The County Arts Centre, Letterkenny

Letterkenny [meaning 'the wet hills of the O'Cannons'] is situated at the head of the River Swilly which flows into Lough Swilly, the deepest sea estuary in Europe.
Letterkenny grew rapidly in the 19th and 20th centuries and is now the largest industrial and commercial centre in Donegal with a population of 15,000.
St. Eunan's Cathedral is one of the oldest buildings in Letterkenny and was built between 1890-1901.
The Lettekenny Institute of Technology offers National Diploma and Degree Courses to 2,000 students.
Letterkenny is home to the County Arts Centre; the County Library; the
County Museum and An Grianan Theatre and also plays hosts an International Folk Festival each summer.
